As the days get colder and holiday decorations pop up, anxiety levels rise like a growing storm. Clients in my counseling practice are overwhelmed. And they’re not alone. According to a poll by the American Psychological Association, eight out of 10 Americans expect to be stressed during the holidays.
I encourage clients to take a breath and think about what’s important. What’s remembered from year to year, and what’s quickly forgotten? Often, an avalanche of gifts get lost in the shuffle, while snuggling in PJs for a movie, or playing games becomes the high point.
